Tails wonders what could have possibly possessed Eggman to go after something so dangerous.

On a side note, this page shows something interesting about the relationship between Eggman and Tails. In this story, Tails has a surprising amount of respect for Eggman because of his genius at creating machines. After Tails tells him off, Eggman is surprisingly affected by Tails' words.

Sonic the Hedgehog ('06) original story and characters are (c) to Sega.

verry cool. and I always thought that there should be a certain relation. actualy it would be neat if Eggman asked Tails to join him. two geniuses to rule the world. but you nailed it good in there.

eh.....? what did he want? i'm too behind on sonicness to know that i suppose... though i guess it doesn't particularly matter in the long run but ah well....

Well, Eggman is the only other genius character in Sonic, so it shouldn't be too surprising that they would have some sort of respect for each other.
