Happy Halloween!

Sat Oct 31, 2009, 5:28 PM
Hey everyone, it's been quite awhile. But this marks yet another year that I've been here on DA.

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween, and everyone gets a lot of candy tonight! I, unfortunately, have a lot of stuff to do. So I'm hanging out in my dorm doing my homework.

I apologize for my lack of existence here ever since the start of the school year, but things have been very busy this semester. The good news is that I'm finally done with my running class, so now my Mondays and Wednesdays are now mine again. Our teacher would always push us very hard and I would get exhausted after each class. And now that that class is done and over with, I have quite a bit of extra time to work on my series of giant bugs that I've been working on all semester. Speaking of art, my next concentration review will occur on Tuesday, so everyone, wish me luck.

That's basically it. Nothing real exciting has been happening, just busting my butt over my projects for school. So we'll see what happens.

Thanks for reading.

First Week

Sun Sep 6, 2009, 10:12 AM
Whew, the first week of school is over, and Labor Day weekend is underway. This year my schedule isn't too bad at all. I have plenty of studio classes this year and only one normal class. I even have a gym class too. Man is that gym class brutal. Over an hour of a pure physical beatdown. Hopefully I'll get thinner because of this.

This year, I get to create my own set of projects for it. With that newfound freedom, I want to start doing things I don't really do. I really want to start making real conceptual art and new character designs. And with that, I also want to refine every part of my way of drawing and creating.

Hopefully this won't derail my comic too much. And I also want to start drawing more nude figures for the sake of perfecting anatomy. So, odds are you'll be finding more nude pictures popping up here over time. Provided I get the time to do it. And I think I'll start making more pictures of my own characters like Naraca, Charley, and Diama as well.

All of that is merely conjecture though. We'll see. But I feel like I can do it, so here's hoping the future is bright.

Tagged and Summer's End

Sat Aug 29, 2009, 6:13 PM
Wow. Hard to believe that summer already over. This of course means that much packing is going to be done.

These past couple of weeks I've been hanging out with my old high school friends since we don't go to the same college. That's kinda why I haven't been around too much.

But, being the nice guy I am, I made one last comic page for the summer.

I have to say that I'm pretty excited to get back to college. It'll be good to see my friends again. And I'll be up for another concentration review. That'll be a lot of fun. XD

And of course, I have been tagged yet again. Curse you Sheshin. :shakefist:

1) Post these rules
2) Post 8 true things about yourself
3) At the end you must tag 8 people and post their icons
4) Go to their page and send them a message saying you tagged them
5) NO TAG-BACKS

1. I enjoy laying around and just thinking. It feels good and allows you to come up with interesting ideas.
2. My favorite gaming franchise of all time is definitely Metroid.
3. I always try my best to be different whenever I do things. I see no point in trying to do redo something that's been done over and over.
4. One of the reasons I joined DA was to make my Sonic comic. Hang around for awhile and you'll see it turn into something unexpected.
5. I enjoy fighting games.
6. I would like to become either a comic book artist or create concept art for video games.
7. I really like trying to make exceptional female characters that are at least equal to or outdo the men. That explains why I like Metroid so much.
8. For as much as I like DA and talking to my friends, I don't like being on the internet. That's why I sometimes end up missing people's replies and never respond to them.

The following people are now tagged. Enjoy yourselves. :evillaugh:

Fanfiction

Wed Jul 29, 2009, 7:17 PM
Fanfiction is an important part of being creative, as surprising as that can be.

If you can write fanfiction well, or creatively, then you would actually make for a good writer on anything that has a set chronology. Like a comic book or TV series.

Lately, as I've been working on my Sonic comic, I've been thinking about all of the fanfictions I've thought up over the years. I wonder what it would've been like if I worked on one the other ones instead. In the spirit of such thought, I figured I would tell you all a little about the fanfictions that may have been. This doesn't mean that I won't continue to work on Sonic though. It's finally getting to something good.

Sonic the Origin: Yep, I had another Sonic in mind that would've been good enough to make into a comic. In fact, I thought of more potential Sonic stories than any other. This one, like it's title says, is about the origin of the Sonic world. It would chronicle what made the Eggman go insane and try to attempt to conquer the world in the first place, and how Sonic and his friends got involved. It told of the events prior to Sonic 1 and all the way to the end of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Back when Sonic was about a crazy scientist and his robots trying to conquer the world and a punk hedgehog and his two-tailed buddy trying to stop him, instead of all these demons and monsters running around. This one would've been pretty sweet to start with because it actually runs through the modified universe that Curse of the Flame takes place in as well. The best scene in this story would've been the fight at the end of the events of Sonic 2. Metal Robotnik versus Sonic was probably one the most epic fights I ever thought of.

F-Zero: This story came about because of a discussion me and a friend had about Captain Falcon. This one was also an origin story. It started with the beginning of the Captain's career. I would've made him kinda like Batman. It would've been like what we all wanted the F-Zero anime to be. You know, it would actually follow Captain Falcon and his exploits, not some lame kid. Probably the coolest thing about this story was the potential for other series to get involved. I was going to have a couple of stories within it about how the Captain would've teamed up with Team Star Fox and the legendary hunter Samus Aran. And of course, he'd have the Falcon Punch and Falcon Kick to help him kick ass on his missions.

Star Fox - Andross: A bit of a mature tale, it chronicles the return of the greatest foe that Fox and crew ever took on, the genius scientist Andross. With his new mechanical body and the ability to infect others and bend them to his will, Andross became an extremely powerful threat in this story. He was powerful enough to take on battle cruisers, literally, by himself. He could merge with vehicles and take their weapons for himself. Even Star Fox would have a lot of trouble with a monster like him. And scary enough, Andross was even able to infect a member of Star Fox and turn them into a potential traitor. The final battle would've involved fighting a giant full-bodied Andross robot. Nothing better than a giant mechanical gorilla. And of course, Fox and Krystal would actually be open with each other in this story as well.

Metroid Future: Last, but possibly my most favorite, is Metroid Future. Taking place 30 years after the end of Metroid Fusion, this story chronicles Samus' battles against the Galactic Federation. During the events of Fusion, it came to light that the Federation was becomind corrupt with power. After the loss of Planet Zebes, the Space Pirates were never able to recover their military might. Also, the destruction of the BSL Research Station and all of the X parasites on Planet SR388, allowed the Federation to label Samus as a traitor. This lead her and Adam (the artificial intelligence that aided her in Fusion) to pursue a career as traitors to the Federation. For as powerful as Samus is, she is only one person. And all of that fighting over the years takes it's toll on a person. The story actually begins on Samus' deathbed. The last few years of her life were spent training a successor. A new Samus Aran. Clad in a rebuilt Varia Suit, this new Samus and Adam attempt to put a stop to the increasing violence of the Federation. She may not have the experience of the original, but she shares an indisputable bond with her. Her homeworld too was attacked and decimated, but unlike Samus whose home was destroyed by Ridley and the Pirates, hers was taken out by the Federation. This was definitely the most controversial of my stories because I wanted to kill off Samus, but I like to think that people still would've enjoyed it.

Whew, thanks for reading. I really need to learn to make shorter entries.
